About Emora
How she found music
Emma Porter is an emerging singer-songwriter from Glens Falls, NY, whose music blends elements of pop, punk, and R&B. With raw, emotional lyrics and a powerful voice, her songs explore themes of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment. She’s currently working on her debut album Silent Muse, with upcoming singles you should leave him and cuz u might meet ur soulmate that reflect her personal journey and her commitment to connecting with others who have struggled to figure out what connecting with lovers, friends, and yourself really means.
Music has always been a constant presence in Porter's life, starting with a childhood love of musicals and a deep connection to The Sound of Music at age 8. Her passion for singing only grew from there, and she became immersed in genres from pop to R&B, punk, and, of course, musicals. In her early college years, she pursued a BFA in Musical Theater, but a transformative experience led her to realize that her heart was in music, not the fast paced world of auditioning for tours, regional shows, and cruise lines. While still pursuing acting and musical theater projects, she found solace and strength in songwriting, channeling her emotions into a sound that speaks to women facing similar struggles.
The turning point in Porter's journey came during a challenging relationship in her first year of college, which led her to question her identity and her worth. Despite the pain, she emerged stronger, using her music as a form of healing and a platform to connect with others who have felt lost or silenced. Through her music, she hopes to offer a sense of peace and validation, reassuring listeners that they are never alone in their struggles.
With a growing fanbase and an authentic voice that resonates with listeners, Emma Porter is poised for even bigger things in her career. Her upcoming projects promise a deeper exploration of her personal journey and an ever-expanding sonic feel.
